StopWatch and the Open Society Justice Initiative submission to the UN Human Rights Council

StopWatch and the Open Society Justice Initiative recently submitted a contribution to the United Nations Human Rights Council review of the United Kingdom.

Every four years all the members of the United Nations are submitted to an Universal Periodic Review (UPR). Under the UPR the nation in question is assessed with regard to the degree it upholds its commitments to Human Rights under the UN Human Rights system. This year the UK came under review and the Council expressed grave concerns about UK counter-terrorism legislation as well and the use of ethnic and religious profiling.

StopWatch and the Open Society Justice Initiative submitted a report to the Council.
